Paul Harris Fellow 2023
In 1905, Paul Harris started Rotary. Rotary has evolved to a worldwide organization with over 32,000 clubs and over 1.2 million members. Rotary's motto this year, is “Create Hope in the World".
A Paul Harris Fellow is Rotary's highest award. It is awarded to a person who has been recognized as having done something significant for others.
This year, the Rotary Club of Shelburne is proud to recognize Ardith Dunlop for her outstanding efforts in leading the fight against food insecurity in Shelburne and area while exemplifying the highest ideal in Rotary in placing “Service Above Self".
For over 20 years, Ardith has served as the volunteer Co-ordinator for the Shepherd's Cupboard (Shelburne Food Bank). Her main duties in that role include scheduling other volunteers, purchasing groceries, picking up groceries at No Frills and Giant Tiger, organizing the Senior's Market (with the Rotary Club of Shelburne), fundraising and applying for grants, and much more.
Ardith regularly volunteers 4-6 days a week at the food bank, sometimes on weekends when she is called for emergency food.
