Tom received his Honours BSc. from the University of Toronto in Psychopharmacology where his honours thesis was published. He received his medical degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and was awarded many honours including being the class valedictorian. Tom is a member of the Ontario and Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Association of Perinatal Naturopathic Doctors. He has done post graduate courses in Cranial-sacral therapy and endocrinology (hormones). He has been a cabinet appointed professional member of the College since 2009.
